MOVE ON!

When it is time to say goodbye, say it and move on!

Have you ever hear the statement “I don’t know what we will do without him” or “ Good luck trying to make it without me!” Well, I have; and I must say that those words can really are you especially if you are very dependent on the person. But God does not have this problem. He is the Almighty! Nothing can exist without him. Colossians 1:17 "And he is before all things, and by him all things consist."
We are made in God’s image and he does desire to have a relationship with us; but he wont force us into o. Neither will he be made to feel as if he is at a loss just because you choose not to.
“God does not need you to accomplish his will but he could sure use your help!”
The Spirit of the Lord left Saul when he sinned against God as King and as a result he lost all the people divinely assigned to assist him and they all went to David. “So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the LORD came upon David in power. Samuel then went to Ramah. Now the Spirit of the LORD had departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD tormented him”. I Samuel 16: 14
This is why God asked Samuel, How long will you mourn for Saul? Go to Jesee house and annoint my new King.
Just because God called you to a place, does not mean you ought not to move on when the time comes. Your mission can be cut short, not because of what you did, but because of others. But God will still be with you in your new assignment. You ought not to fear.
See how embarrassing it was for Saul to consult a medium to see Samuel? They will come seeking but you will be gone! “Why have you disturbed me by calling me back?” Samuel asked Saul. 1 Samuel 28:15
Literally..But in your serving, do it diligently, as to the Lord. Hearken to God’s voice. Allow not your humanity to be a hindrance to you being used by God. Samuel loved Saul and this is why he had a hard time letting go. It clouded his judgment when it came to selecting David…His assumptions on who God would anoint as the next King were as a result of him trying to find the next “Saul” Saul was tall, big, David was not…he struggled to the last son! Hehe “ they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab and thought, "Surely the LORD's anointed stands here before the LORD." But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7,8
What is the paradox?
Let us look at it from the standpoint of Saul. Saul was selected by God to be the 1st King of Israel. God himself was the Israel’s King but they demanded a new King and God chose Saul! What an honor! The only thing God required was obedience! When Saul disobeyed God and put riches and self-honor before him, he was unselected! Not only that, God’s Spirit left him!
When he was first selected, the Bible tells us that the Spirit of the Lord came upon him and he started testifying. “When Saul and his servant arrived at Gibeah, a group of prophets met him. Then the Spirit of God rushed upon him, and he prophesied along with them. All those who had formerly known Saul and saw him prophesying with the prophets asked one another, “What has happened to the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?” 1 Samuel 10:11
Its no wonder when he was unselected, the Spirit of the Lord left him. His mission was cut short, his blessings were cut short and God moved on! "But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him.” 1 Samuel 16:14
But Samuel replied, “Why ask me, since the Lord has left you and has become your enemy? Samuel 28:15
This is why God asked Samuel, How long will you mourn for Saul? Go to Jesee house and anoint my new King. that God cannot do it without you! It does not matter what position you hold, God will always raise someone else and not only that, he will raise the standard as well! Think about that!
Points to Note:
Whom he calls, he can also set aside
God will never dilute the standards of his Holiness
God does not need you to accomplish his purpose or will.
He can raise up a Leader at any time.
God can take his Spirit away from you. This leaves with his favor and even his Blessings.
God honors only his name
You are not too special to be replaced.
